We got up a bit late on Tuesday and missed the others at breakfast. They had already bagged some great sunbeds by the kids pool. So we spent the rest of the morning up there.
James arranged for us to have a late checkout and as the flight times have changed a bit this year we kept the room until 9pm.
The girls once again went to kids club while James took Jack back for a sleep. I stayed by the pool to make the most of the last day of sunshine - reading, swimming and dozing before we went to pick the girls up. They came out with the kids club group at one point to play some game by the pool which was quite cute to watch as they were by far the youngest in the group and walked there and back holding hands.
After kids club Rachel and I stayed out playing in the pool for as long as we could until we decided it was time to go and get washed and changed ready for home time.
We had organised some photos to be done by the hotel and went to choose our favourite 20 photos for the album. It turned out we didn't have quite enough so we had them do some more of the kids until we had enough.
We had dinner a bit before the others but they joined us a little later.
J went back to collect the cases and final check of the room then we sat in the bar waiting for the bus to come.
At 9.45 we got on the bus back to the airport. It was an impressive double decker and we sat upstairs. Rachel sobbed for the first 15 minutes of the bus journey until she finally gave up and fell asleep. Jack stayed awake the whole journey. We then spent ages queueing at the airport until we finally made it through to airside and waited for the boarding to start. We watched everyone else queue to get on before joining at the end.
The plane took off a few minutes late and despite my initial trepidation as to how the kids would behave they both fell fast asleep as soon as the plane took off. In fact Rachel was asleep before we took off! Jack stayed awake until he pointed out we were flying before giving in to his tiredness.
They slept the whole way back. Jack was a bit restless as he couldn't get comfy and we had to wake Rachel up once for a wee as we were concerned she might have an accident!
We landed just before 3.30am.
For the first time ever there was no queue at passport control. The suitcases came out quickly followed not too much later by the pushchair. We waited in the airport to say goodbye to Paul, Carrie and Chloe. Then we finally headed home and were all tucked up in bed just after 5am.
