The sun has got his hat on...

Finally the sun is out.
Saw the funniest advert last night for the shop "go outdoors". It's gone, the snow has gone. Are you sure?

Yes! At last we can go outside without our thermals on.
We have been working hard on sorting the garden out - in between all the terrible weather and now we are almost there we can actually start to enjoy it.
We laid down some turf in the middle of march, in the hope that we might be able to go out in the garden over Easter but then it snowed again! But despite that the grass seems to have taken well and we have a small (slightly bumpy - due to what seems to be walls under the ground) lawn for the kids to play on.
The decking has been stripped and we have almost finished re-staining it.
The plants grandma had been nurturing for us are here.
Some of the seeds rachel and I had planted are starting to grow. Unfortunately one whole tray had been destroyed - twice! - by the strong winds we have had in the last month.
The new garden furniture is here and put together.
The parasol is up.
The washing is getting hung out - saving a fortune in tumble drying costs.

And all is good with the world.

Well almost all - as inevitably with going outside a lot, there are more scratches and grazes from over-excited children racing around and tripping over things!!
