After a rough night with everyone we were up at 8.00 ish. James took Rachel down to get some juice and they brought me back up some breakfast in bed. Then Rachel had picked up my I pad and was playing around with it and she happened to pull-up the cslendar with today's date on it. This was the moment we both remembeed it was our 5th wedding anniversary and we hadn't even said happy anniversarynto each other, let alone get cards or presses!! My excuse was I had given James Jack as an anniversary present just as 2 years earlier I had given him Rachel as an early birthday present!! Nice save I think!!and James pointed out he had brought me breakfast in bed so that was pretty much our treats for each other.
After breakfast I wet for a quick shower and then went and relieved James so he could do the same. Rachel had a late breakfast which she had only half finished when granny and grandad arrived and Ben cam e rushing down and before we could stop him had his chops around the rest of her cereal so she didn't get anymore altho this didn't seem to bother her very much.
She played for a bit and then granny and grandad set out to take her and Ben for a walk. It was very cold out although sunny and they didn't get very far before Rachel decided she needed a wee so they came rushing back. Of course once she was back she turn round and said she didn't need a wee at all but I think they didn't mind too much as it had been so cold outside!
By this time we needed to think about lunch as she had playgroup in the afternoon, so it was fish and chips for the adults and a selection of cold bits and bobs for Rachel.after a bit of persuasion from granny and daddy she ate pretty well and had some chips of our plates and a bit of fishcake.
Daddy then shipped her off to playgroup and granny and grandad went off to sainsburys. After attempting to convince Jack to have a sleep in his Moses basket which was nit going to happen, Joan our nextdoor neighbour popped in to see him and deliver some presents for Jack and a book for Rachel. Then Jack had a feed and daddy went out to see uncle Luke while I left Jack with the grandparents and went to collect Rachel from playgroup- a damn sight slimmer than the last time I had picked her up! It was the first time I had been out in the car on my own since the last week so it was a bit strange. Rachel told me she hadn't cried at playgroup and came out armed with yet another picture for daddy! When we got back Jack had pooed so needed changing and then surprise surprise he wanted more milk. I then dozed off on the sofa for a few minutes before I went to rescue granny who was trying to sort out rachel's dinner but was struggling to find where we keep things. Again granny managed to get Rachel to eat most of her dinner - the rest of the fishcake from lunch and some beans, followed by yoghurt. Just so we didn't think we had got away without the customary tantrum Rachel came in the kitchen and saw the cheese strings in the fridge and started to play up, screaming for one and so ended up in the naughty corner. After a little paddy she calmed down and said sorry so we sat down and had another yoghurt.
The grown ups then had a yummy rupali for tea which I am sure Jack will get to enjoy a bit later on tonight in my milk!!
After Rachel had had her bath she came down crying and saying her ear hurt. I think she was very overtired by this time so after a fair amount of crying from her as we attempted to get her dressed, granny and grandad made a tactical retreat back to their hotel and I took Rachel up to bed. She was asleep within seconds, now we just have to wait and see how long that lasts for!!
My right nipple is excruciatingly painful tonight whenever Jack feeds on that side but I seem to remember that I went through about a week or so of very sore boobs with Rachel when I couldn't even bear my clothes to touch them so at least so far it's not that bad. Although, having said that, knowing my luck I am sure that will kick in tomorrow!
Fell asleep tonight on the sofa watching Telly and James informs me I was snoring very loudly, alongside Jack squeaking and Ben groaning!! Probably had a couple of hours sleep tho. Now we are up in bed, giving Jack a little feed before we attempt to get him in to his basket - again!!!
No doubt he will poo as soon as I finish feeding him so we will need to change him again, thus disturbing him again and waking him up again, so he wants more milk! I guess only time will tell.
Here goes.......
