Day 14 and 15

Unfortunately Rachel didn't sleep through and came in to us again and ended up staying. Jack was unsettled as well and when he wanted feeding at 6 this woke rachel up... Of course she wouldn't settle down again which was bad timing as it was daddy's first day back at work. He got up with her, bless him and let us go back to sleep for a bit. We got up as soon as we woke up properly at about half nine so we could let daddy go back to bed for an hour. Thank goodness he was only in at 12 today.
Anyway Rachel, Jack and I managed to keep occupied for the morning, sent rach up to wake daddy just before 11 and he pretty much had to leave immediately. Luckily for me, we were expecting grandma, grandad and auntie Sarah to come over so I had something to look forward to!!!

Got everyone fed and then we played for a bit whilst waiting for the reinforcements. At about half 1, both kids fell asleep on the sofa, Jack on my knee and Rachel next to us. I snuggled down and not long after the grandparents turned up. I thought I would make the most of the time and handed Jack over to go upstairs for a leisurely bath whilst rach was asleep. I don't think she slept for long -not sure what grandad did to Ben, but I heard grandma saying to David not to do that to Ben and next thing he was yelping which I guess would have woken rach up!!

Anyway after a lovely relaxing bath on my own, I came down, had a cuppa and then the grandparents packed up Rachel and set off to take auntie Sarah to the station and then onto Ikea and back to theirs.

So jack and I were left to our own devices. It was really surreal and quiet!! And so so easy just looking after one baby!! No idea why I struggled so much looking after rachel when she was this small!! All we did was sit around watching tv, catching up on midsomer murders, printing off some photos. We even did some washing and cleaning. Piece of cake!!!

We went up to bed just before 11 and daddy got back soon after. Had a pretty good night all in

all, on and off sleeping until nearly 10. At 7 Jack woke for a feed and I was surprised to find daddy gone. Didn't realize he was on brekkie and hadn't noticed him leave at all!
We had some brekkie and chilled out for a bit. When we were just getting ready to head over to redditch to pick rachel up and have lunch, jack decided he wanted to eat again!
Finally we set off and got there just after 1. The first thing rachel told me was how someone had stolen their trolley in ikea while they were in the restaurant. Apparently she was very indignant about this!!
Had lunch, then played with rachel a bit before we set off for home. This evening was the longest amount of time we had been on our own without anyone else to help.scary stuff!!
It all went ok, except Rachel wouldn't go to bed. Despite saying she was tired and ready for bed repeatedly, she was not tired and I didn't get her to bed till nearly half 9!! Surprisingly wasn't as stressed by this as I expected!!
Daddy got home just over an hour later and then we headed to bed.
