Day 17 -first whole day without daddy here!!!!!!

As is becoming the norm, Rachel came in to us again....she settled pretty quickly, on my side of the bed tonight rather than daddy's. Was up for about three hours with Jack who insists on eating, then falling asleep and then pooping so he wakes himself up with the noise and discomfort. Raaaarrrrr...
Anyways back to today....

Came down at half 9, made a cuppa and some pain au chocolat, and sent daddy back to bed for an hour. And so with intrepidation and fear, the long day began....
Not sure really what we did this morning! Watched some tv, got rachel dressed, planned what we were going to do for the rest of the day and fed baby Jack, who spent a lot of time awake this morning - nearly 4 hours in one stretch I think...
Then daddy got up to go to work and pretty much left straightaway. After that I got rach to help me make us some lunch - just ham sandwiches and crisps and cheese, nothing too fancy! Rachel had a fruit pot for pudding and then I tried to get her to drink her milk on the proviso that when she had drunk it we could do some painting! She finally drank it and so I got he set up with paper, paints, brush and water, oh and some wipes to clean off the paint she got everywhere. She did a few paintings with the brush, before she got her hands stuck in and got paint everywhere! Anyway this kept her occupied for almost half an hour - a record I think! It gave me a few minutes to do a few things at least.
By this time it was half 2 and she was starting to droop a bit. The last thing I wanted was to let her sleep cos I knew she wouldn't go to bed tonight if I did, so I got the troops together and we walked to the shop to get some batteries, Jack in his sling and rach holding my hand.
We managed perfectly well, I think I might be able to do this after all!!
Soon enough it was time to get the tea on, which Rachel helped with and after an hour more playing, it was teatime. As it was her favourite, cottage pie - made by grandma - she ate well, much better than last night.she had an apple for pudding as well.
At half 6 we went up for a bath, after playing tickle monsters for a bit and then miraculously she was tucked up in bed by 8.15!!!
Good times. So except for Jack puking on me a minute ago, we are now enjoying some quiet times, and feeling mildly chuffed with ourselves for a successful day. Organization and having plans, is definitely the key...
However now starting to stress about tonight and tomorrow morning....!!
Also, as the inspiration that i am, I have just read becci's blog and now feel a little inadequate as her posts are way more eloquent and meaningful than my ramblings... Oh well, I am way too pleased with myself for actually starting and sticking to doing this blog, I don't mind in the slightest!
