Night 21 - day 23

well Saturday night was a standard night. Little sleep and lots of eating, but at least we got to have a good lie in. In fact we didn't get up until pretty much lunchtime which was a luxury.
We then headed over to get rachel and have lunch with the in-laws. toad in the hole - yummy!
Rachel was asleep when we got there so we knew she would not be going to bed early on Sunday night.....
On the way we stopped in at Argos to get a vaporiser. Jack is very snuffly and I am hoping that it will work its magic on him and help him breathe easier at night, and thus sleep better. Only time will tell.
As predicted, Rachel went to bed after 9pm and Jack and I went up about 10 ish. I put the vaporiser on and you would not believe actually how loud those things are! It doesn't bother me in the slightest but as soon as it got going, I knewthat James would struggle to sleep with it. He struggles with me having the lava lamp on so add the noise to that and he is not going to be impressed!!
Anyway it seemed to work well for Jack as in between feeds we actually had a really good night. He even spent most of the night in his moses basket. Miracle of miracles!
Rachel came in as normal at around 1 and at this point James was just coming up to bed, so he just set up the sofa bed and took her back through to her room. I think they slept until just before 8 and then james took her downstairs for brekkie. We got up around half 9 and joined them downstairs - eventually - when James' friend Ian came round to catch up with him and meet Jack. I tried to express some more milk this morning and managed to get the sum total of 1 1/2 ounces out!! Not great, but a start I suppose.
After Ian left it was Rachel's lunchtime and then time for playgroup. While she was out I had a quick nap upstairs and James dozed on the sofa for a bit with Jack. Then we started the usual  mega feeding sessions!
Luke came round for a couple of hours in the evening and Rachel demanded a present off him! He said he did have one but that it had got locked in the office at work by his boss, Wilf. This then led to an ongoing discussion about the big bad wilf/wolf and how we were all going to have to smack his bottom.. This was highly amusing to start with, but she is still going on and on about it now, so it is not quite as amusing anymore!!!
I went to have a bath with her, but ended up having one on my own as she refused to come in. Typically as soon as I got out and let the water out, she decided that she wanted a bath after all, so I had to re-run one for her. Little monster.
I think she was in bed by half 8/9 o clock. Whenever half time was in the football.! James and i had a curry and watched the football. A great way to celbrate valentines day!!!
jack and I went up at around 10pm again and i was hoping we might have another good night with the vaporsiser on - especially as the next day was tuesday, the longest day of the week... But it was not to happen. As usual, the first part of the night was great. Then Jack was up from 1 til about 5 and even after that did not settle well. Rachel slept through - hurray and then appeared as I was once again feeding Jack at 7. After that james took her downstairs and jack seemed even more bunged up than yesterday and so was really fussy. After about an hour, james popped his head in to see how we were doing, so i asked him to take Jack with him for a bit, so I could actually get a bit of sleep. Luckily for me, he went in to work late, so I got a little bit of sleep before he came up for a shower and I took over with the kids.
Rachel and I had a busy day. We did stickers, gluing, painting and then some more glueing in the afternoon!
Jack has been really good today. We brought the Moses basket downstairs, so he had a few good sleeps in there, so allowing me the time to keep Rachel occupied with said activities.
So to this evening, Rachel was tucked up in bed by 7.45 and jack had a feed and then settled him down for a nap too. good times - for now anyway!!
Spoke to Becci earlier and by the sound of it, Jacks little playmate might be making an appearance soon. hurray!!
