Starting nursery -and then school

Of course another momentous milestone was achieved in this time, for Rachel started school. First she went to Mount Nod Nursery and then moved up to the reception class.
We had a couple of clingy days at the beginning of each year but nowadays she runs in without barely a glance in our direction and she never considers stopping to give me a kiss. Though occasionally Jack merits a swift cuddle before she runs off. I may sound like this makes me sad but I prefers this way to the clinging to my legs and crying that we used to get with playgroup.
Apparently she is a model pupil. She is very bright and I quote "a pleasure to teach". We are convinced that her teachers don't actually know who she is! Tbh I guess it's better that she is this way as I would rather she saved the impeccable behaviour for others and treated us to the kicking and screaming of temper tantrums.
Education-wise she is in the top group of her class for numeracy and literacy which is great considering she is one of the youngest. She lacks confidence and has to be pushed into doing stuff but I think she will improve this. I really think there is a massive difference at this age in terms of development as her best friend Jess is much more advanced in all sorts if ways, size, play, language etc so I am super chuffed if Rachel is keeping up with the older one sat school. I would like her to speak up though sometimes - Jess says she never talks at school!
