Week 5

Well I was right not to hope for a good night.he was really restless from half 12 onwards. I think he finally slept from about half 6. Thank goodness Rachel was at grandma's, as Daddy had to go in to work on a breakfast shift on his day off and I would have been fit for nothing if I hadn't been able to sleep in.
When we finally got up and were ready we set off for grandma's house for lunch and to collect the monster! On the way we had to stop to get dog food, and we also popped in to pound stretcher where I found a lovely little coat for Jack, just £4.99 - bargain!
Lunch was great altho as usual, Jack decided he wanted to eat as Soon as we sat down. Auntie Sarah and Addy were there too, so it was lovely to see them.
When they set off for the train station, Rachel, Jack and I popped to Matalan and then onto home. We are getting quite brave now - going out with both kids is not actually as bad as I expected, although I do seem to spend a lot of time saying "no Rachel"!!
Sunday night and Monday nights were much better. Jack slept for most of the night in his basket and just came out to feed. Unfortunately Tuesday night was not as good!
On Monday James was home in the evening which was great as I didn't really expect him to get the night off. In the morning Rachel Jack and I had been to sainsburys. Another successful trip out with just the three of us. All coming home in one piece, and then I had stuck the slow cooker on to make our dinner. Good times!
On Tuesday Jack and I had a lie in and then after James had had a bit of a rest we all went to solihull to meet Luke. It was great to be able to get out for the afternoon and solihull is quite a good place to go with a breastfed baby as there are plenty of facilities available to use to feed in. To be fair, Jack slept most of the time then after a couple of hours we left Rachel with daddy and Luke and went to the baby facilities in the loos by John Lewis where I sat in one of the feeding cubicles and fed him. We got rachel's feet measured and she is now a 7 1/2 so we bought her some lovely but ridiculously expensive shoes!
All in all we had a good shopping trip - not sure I am quite ready to go out there with the kids on my own yet - but it sure did make the day fly by!
Before we knew it, it was time for Rachel to have dinner and then bath, but as she had slept both in the car going and coming back from solihull, I didn't even try to get her to bed until late and she went down no problems. I could get used to this being a stay at home mum malarchy, if only we could afford for me to do it!!!'m
