I am now rubbish at this!

Well I have been officially rubbish as Jack is now ten weeks old and I don't seem to have posted anything since week 6! So it's about time I caught up with whats been going on in the last 3 weeks.....
So where was I?
Mum and dad came to stay for the night having done a flying tour of all their relatives in the midlands. We had a quiet Sunday afternoon from what I can remember anyway!

Then on Monday morning we sent grandad out into the front garden while mum cuddled Jack and I vacuumed behind all the furniture in the lounge which had not been done in a while so there was a wee build up of dog fluff and rachel's toys there...
After a while we noticed that Rachel had disappeared but we soon discovered she had gone out and was "helping" grandad in the front garden...which generally seemed to involve her wearing her mittens and moving dirt around so they were filthy when she came back in!
Anyway at least it kept her busy and out from under our feet!! Not sure grandad was too happy though!
We had an early lunch and then we sent granny and grandad on their way home while we took Rachel to playgroup.
On Thursday of that week, Jack had his check up with the health visitor. I had him weighed
10lb5oz first and then we went through to see the HV. she went to get a tape measure but never actually measured him! She looked at how strong his neck was, asked a few questions about his development and that was that. He seems to be doing really well but still has a sticky eye. The HV suggested we should see doctor about this so on the way out we went to make an appointment but they couldn't give us an appointment for 13 days!! As we were booked in to see the doc for our check up and first injections the day after that it seemed a bit pointless...
As far as the next couple of weeks went I can't remember anything of note happening..although that doesn't mean nothing happened it just means I have a terrible memory!
So 2 weeks passed and we had our checkup with the doctor. First Jack had his injections. He was really good, cried a little at the first and a bit more and a bit louder at the second!but then went quiet and had nice cuddle while we waited for the doc. She checked his hips, neck strength, mouth. I asked about his eye and she told me just to massage the corner of his eye with my finger and that should help. Funnily enough watching afternoon tv that day, exactly the same advice was given to a character on Doctors!
Took him up to be weighed again and he was exactly 5kg or 11 lbs to those of us who can't work out weight in kilos. He was good as gold for most of the day, but then hot a bit fussy as the evening rolled on, so in the end I gave in and gave him a little drop of calpol which settled him down.
