I don't want.....

Currently jack's favourite phrase is "I don't want that". So contrary to the normal "I want" he spends more time saying "I don't want". It generally refers to whatever DVD he has just asked to have put on, then changed his mind, or food or drink he has been given but doesn't want! Don't get me wrong we still get plenty of "I wants" too.
His language skills seem to have just taken a little leap he has been talking and putting words together for ages but suddenly he has started to use more full sentences and they generally make sense!
This afternoon for instance he put the Lego box on his head and looked through the slits on the side and announced "mummy I'm going up the moon now". And, he quite clearly just told rachel she had to give her chocolate mousse to mummy which ended up with a trip to the naughty step as he proceeded to hit Rachel when she didn't give it to me, even though I said I didn't want it.
Tantrums are fantastic. Luckily my kids have yet to subject me to a screaming, lying on the floor, kicking, in the middle of Sainsburys, tantrum. Just a bit of whinging about sitting in the trollies or not, wanting to hold things or open things etc etc. Before I had kids I was one of those judgemental people who would look disapprovingly at parents who let their kids behave like that in public because it was obviously down to their bad parenting. Now I look at them and give them a sympathetic smile.
