This ole house.....

So we now have a nice, warm, 3 storey house. Ensuite to the master, Rachels room is all done and Jack's new bedroom is taking shape. It is inevitable, therefore, that something else falls apart and it looks as if this time it's the plumbing under the bath and shower in the main bathroom...again!
We had the bathroom replaced in, I think, 2007 after the leaking pipes below the original bath caused the kitchen ceiling and floor to start to fall apart/decay. This was not long after we had the (old) new boiler installed and as a result had to have the whole house rewired- back in the days before kids when it was just us and Ben. We decided that, as we were having to pull out the bath to look at the pipes anyway, then maybe we should just bite the bullet and get a new bath suite put in. And as we no longer needed the cupboard for the water tank , use that space for a shower cubicle. We considered this to be a job that would also add value to the house - blissfully unaware that the housing market was about to crash. Grrrr. Although having said that the bathroom really needed updating anyway. I mean, when we moved in was pretty awful! There was wallpaper that resembled christmas wrapping paper on the top half of the walls that overlapped on to the tiles and the bath was so old I can only imagine it was the original bath! I will post a picture if I can find one!
Anyway back to now - so yes it looks like the pipes underneath need some serious attention, before we end up needing a new kitchen ceiling again... More plumber visits on the cards then!
