So almost a year and a half after their stunning wedding baby Zach finally joined the kettle-topping family, a spectacular 17 days late on the 9th Feb 2013. Auntie Sarah swears he was worth the wait but at a whopping 8lb13oz's I would have dragged him out earlier before he got to be that big! The thought of it makes me cringe even now, so I have to say I am very proud of my sis for doing so well and doing it naturally. And tbh I have a sneaky feeling that maybe he was worth the wait after all as he is pretty perfect - makes you sick doesn't it?!
We didn't get to meet him for a couple of weeks due to school and work commitments but we finally made the trek to Chichester, stayed over in the premier inn and got to have lots of cuddles with baby Zach. Jack was massively jealous at first and had the biggest paddy I have seen him have when I held the baby for the first time. But he did eventually calm down and even asked to have a cuddle himself after a while and sat with a huge grin on his face and have baby Zach lots of kisses too.
Auntie Sarah was very tired and pretty emotional - but if you know her that would not surprise you - but actually she was and is doing a fab job of coping. I just remember being a total wreck after Rachel was born and I know that Mum did a phenomenal amount for me. Maybe I let her do too much and I would have been better off sucking it up and getting on with it. I don't know, I just remember being totally shell-shocked for many months and struggling to cope with the sleep deprivation. (Although second time around was a breeze!)
