Theatrical beginnings...

With school comes the obligatory school assemblies and productions, all complete with singing and dancing. These are the occasions where parents come to watch little Daniel or Ruby perform to the best of their talents. They come to cheer them on and swell with pride when they remember their lines or the words to the song. For J and I, although of course we want to see our children perform brilliantly, we go for the amusement factor provided by primary school productions. The moment when the year 6 choir is baffled by the 2 different versions of little donkey playing in the background not knowing which to follow, the moment when a small, skinny child appears dressed head to toe as a star with just her head visible (rachel in her reception nativity) , the subsequent moment when the North Star is so distracted by her parents that she forgets to hand the baby Jesus to Mary - the only job she actually had to do, the moment, well multiple moments where the teachers have to prompt the small children to say/sing the words they have practised all term.... Brilliantly funny moments that you can't explain fully in words but, thanks to the technology of today, you can record on your phone to file-share it with anyone and everyone.
